If you own a cell phone, you've more than likely been guilty of mistakenly texting the wrong number. Whether you've texted your great grandmother's top secret cookie recipe to a stranger named Phillis at 1:30 in the morning or accidentally dialed the local Wal-Mart, a wrong number text or call can be completely mortifying.
However, out of all the cell phone owning humans in the world, there's a chance you might end up accidentally getting a hold of someone that could take you by surprise.
A young woman named Charlyn Willis, a 28-year-old from Georgia, hit the wrong number jackpot when she attempted to text her sister the news of her recent engagement but accidentally shared the news with the Vampire Slayer herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Due to her excitement, Willis rushed to send the news out to all of her family and friends. She missed one single digit to her sister's number and thus began the legend of the texting mishap.
Most of us who get a wrong number text shrug it off and slap back the usual, "Wrong number" response, but Gellar had bigger plans. She decided to message Willis back and send forth her congratulations.
Gellar took to Facebook to share what had went down. "This is #CharlynWillis. She got engaged yesterday, and meant to text her sister, but in all the excitement, got me instead," Gellar wrote. She then went on to urge her friends and followers to share their congratulations to the happy couple as well.
The post has been shared over a hundred times and has received over 12,000 reactions from fans and friends alike.
At some point, Willis herself saw the post and ended up inviting Gellar to her wedding!
"Omg! Thank you Sarah! His name is Dennis! Thank you so much for this. You’ve truly made my engagement experience even more of a life changer! Please know when we set a date, I’ll be reaching out to invite you, Freddie, and the kids!"
"And to everyone who has written their well wishes and congratulations, THANK YOU SO MUCH! My fiancé Dee and I are absolutely floored and grateful for all of the love extended to us. Thank you again and YES, once we set a date, we’re definitely going to invite SMG, Freddie and their kids to the wedding."
People responded with complete shock and excitement, as this is an extremely rare occurrence. One top commenter even wrote "Well that's one hell of a wrong number." His comment could not possibly be more accurate, if you ask me.
Above anything, people were beyond impressed with the way Gellar handled the situation, as most celebrities would have never even responded- let alone share the conversation with the world.
Props to Sarah Michelle Gellar for sharing the love!
