As a mom myself I can say my kids have already had their fair share of balloon animals. Usually, the extent of what a balloon artist can offer my kids is a fancy sword or flower but sometimes we've gotten cooler things like an elephant or a puppy on a leash. Man, do those little balloon animals light up their days!
Well, after seeing this gallery I'll never be satisfied again.
Japanese based artist Masayoshi Matsumoto has been in the intricate and totally awesome balloon animal business for a couple years now but his current work is definitely taking the Internet by storm and it's not hard to see why. These balloon animals are surely like nothing you've ever seen at a birthday party or county fair, I guarantee it.
Matsumoto recently interviewed with the Metro and along with explaining he is a self-taught artist and each piece takes anywhere from two to SIX hours to complete that:
I started making these seven years ago, I was really inspired by wildlife pictures and wanted to see if I could create realistic animals of my own.
Boy, did he ever.
The coolest part of Matsumoto's work? It's all created in his head and with his hands. He uses no markers, stickers, or ANY supplementing materials to bring his work to life. It's ALL skill, baby.
