The Internet Feels Robbed Because Michael Phelps Didn't Really Race A Shark
I think we all understand pretty well just how good of an athlete Michael Phelps is and has been and when The Discovery Channel began advertising for their very beloved Shark Week that Michael Phelps was going to race a great white shark to determine who was faster, apparently a lot of people thought they would literally race side by side. I'm sure The Discovery Channel got pretty creative with their advertisements but one would think some common sense would suggest that this would be insanely unsafe. Yet as the reality hit that Michael Phelps would swim alongside a simulated shark and the shark would be timed in a safe place away from Phelps, Twitter erupted in controversy.
Many fans felt cheated as if The Discovery Channel had lied to them. Whether their feelings are valid or not is certainly up for debate, but one thing is for certain: the tweets are amazing. Completely serious here folks, these will be some of the funniest tweets of the entire year. Have a look for yourself at the 14 best ones we could find!
Here's what all the hullaballoo was about anyway.
