Shocking Social Experiment: This Man Used His Female Coworker's Signature On Emails
People can talk until they are blue in the face about sexism in the work place but a lot of times valid voices are silenced and dismissed by people who just don't understand things from another perspective than their own. In general, we don't have a lot of opportunities to even temporarily see what it's like to exist in someone else's experiences but for one professional man, the simplest opportunity changed everything.
Martin Schneider is a writer in Philadelphia who just so happens to share an inbox with his coworker, a woman named Nicole Pieri. Going about his usual business he found himself stunned by a client's uncharacteristic responses to his emails and it took a bit for him to realize the emails were being signed off as Nicole instead of himself. Stunned at the realization of what was possibly happened, the two decided to embark on an experiment where Martin switched signatures with Nicole for a whopping two weeks just to see if this was an isolated incident or if this was a shocking example of sexism in the workplace.
