A kid from Indiana by the name Gerald Hamilton and his family were utterly disappointed when no one showed up to his ninth birthday. His grandma, Amelia had some mixed feelings about the whole incident, she felt sympathy for her kind-hearted son but was also very furious because his friends stood him up.

After going through various skull expansion surgeries, Gerald's learning abilities became slower in comparison to his classmates and that resulted in some developmental delays. Gerald's family strongly believed that their son's current state only made him more unique, but his classmates and their families didn't share the same views as them and weren't willing to accept him.

One of the saddest moments of that day was when Gerald's mom suggested they cut the cake when no one showed up after several hours of waiting, but Gerard still had some hope left and asked them to wait a little longer hoping that one of his friends might show up.

Sadly, no one ended up showing, so his family found an alternate solution to compensate for the lack of guests so they gathered as much family members as possible to throw him the best birthday party and show their love and support.

Amelia felt really frustrated with this whole incident so after 2 days she took her frustrations to Facebook in order to blow off some steam where she shared the ridiculous excuses parents gave after she asked them why their kids didn't show up to the birthday party.

“When my daughter called the 12 parents to find out what was going on. Here is their response. ‘My child can’t play with yours he is just too different.’ How sad he is 9 he just wants to have friends. So no one came, no cards, no presents. So, it is my mission to have as many cards as I can mailed to my little guy. You can send them to me and I’ll make sure he gets them….this breaks my heart.”
